1 - Easy Money

Please forgive the excessive proxying, our campaign has just started!
Ghor Grimnor (Dwarf/Knight/Man-at-Arms) is represented by the Barbarian model in the center.
[Al] (Trollkin/?/Sorcerer) is represented by the Artificer model on the left.
[Jordy] (Human/Cutthroat/Duelist) is represented by the Iosan model on the bottom.
Ivan Tellstorm, the NPC is represented by the blue coated Gobber on the right.

"Here it is! Finally!"  Ivan Tellstorm exclaimed, as he examined the artefact.
" Ivan - how long will you take?" Ghor said.
Ivan didn't seem to notice anything beyond the machine, but after spending the last few days traversing the forest with the eccentric Gobber, Ghor wasn't surprised. Their journey through the wilds under the employ of the quirky Gobber had been easy, in terms of fulfilling their roles as his bodyguards, however Ivan's peculiar manner and incoherent ramblings made the journey seem longer than any journey had a right to be.
"Alright, this may be a while. [Jordy], you and I will scout the immediate area - [Al] stay with Ivan and - "
Ghor's sentence was cut short by the loud, distinct crash through the trees to north-west.
"Form-up!" Ghor cried.
Ghor and his companions move up behind cover, and keep watch for any signs of movement. In the distance, they saw what looked to be another party of adventurers - though whether or not they were friend or foe remained to be seen. [Jordy] throws a smoke bomb, blocking direct line of sight to the advancing party.
"Eureka!" Ivan shouted. The artifact hummed to life, and from the portal, a bright blue flash lit up the forest. A heavily armoured Artificer stepped through the portal and, with only a moment's hesitation, stepped to the entranced Gobber. Ivan looked up at the Artificer in a reverie, and an instant later, the Artificer picked him up by his oversized head and obliterated the Gobber.
From the forest, two hulking warjacks crashed through the foliage to advance on the wary travellers.
"I've got this one - you two hold off the warjacks!" Ghor yelled charging at the Artificer.
With one fell swing of his mighty warhammer, the Artificer was killed, his heavy armour torn asunder. Almost immediately, the advancing warjacks seemed to lose their purpose, and crashed to the forest floor, unmoving.
The party on the other side of the pass advanced closer, seeming to focus on an unseen threat from the north-western forest.
Seeing the Artificer down, [Jordy] moved to loot the corpse of the fallen enemy, but found nothing he could use.
[Al] made haste for the forest, and attempted to discern if any further threats were to be seen.

In this photo, the Artificer model represents the Artificer enemy.
[Al]'s model is off camera.

In the distance, the other party of adventurers seemed to have their own problems to deal with...
